Why didn’t my Rule work?

If your rule did not complete, it is usually due to one of the following reasons.


1. Was there money in the account?

  • Rules can only move available funds.
  • If the balance was €0 at the time the rule triggered, there was nothing to transfer.
  • Accounts cannot go into a negative balance.

2. Did the scheduled time pass?

  • Scheduled rules only run at the exact date and time configured.

For example:

  • If your rule is set to run on the last day of the month at 08:00, funds must be in the account before 08:00 on that day.
  • If funds arrive after that time, the rule will run at the next scheduled date.

3. Would the transfer have caused a negative balance?

  • If the rule attempted to move more funds than were available, it will not complete.

4. Is the trigger set correctly?

Check whether your rule is set to:

  • Run when funds are received (Incoming), or
  • Run on a schedule (Outgoing)

A scheduled rule will not run when a payment is received.


An incoming rule will not run at a scheduled time.


If you’ve checked the above and your rule still hasn’t run as expected, please contact support and include:

  • The date and time it was expected to run
