What's the difference between Connected and NoFrixion Accounts?

A NoFrixion Account is an account opened directly within the NoFrixion platform.

A Connected Account is your existing external business bank account (for example, Bank of Ireland or AIB) that you securely link to NoFrixion using Open Banking.

What is a NoFrixion Account?

A NoFrixion Account is:

  • Regulated like a bank account
  • Created instantly within the platform
  • Used to hold, send and receive funds
  • Fully operational inside NoFrixion

This is where your money is managed within the platform.

What is a Connected Account?

A Connected Account is:

  • Your existing external business bank account
  • Securely linked using Open Banking
  • View-only access (balances and transactions)

NoFrixion cannot move funds from a connected account unless you explicitly use a payment initiation feature, like our payment requests.

The purpose of a connected account is to give you visibility, not custody.

Simple way to think about it

NoFrixion Account = An account you open and operate within NoFrixion

Connected Account = An external bank account you link for visibility
